This is another link to an article showing how some cities are now giving fines for skating in certain areas and doing certain things like riding down hills and in business areas because of kids getting hurt from hitting cars that are parked or moving. Another concern is that they are a concern to other motorists and pedestrians as well as themselves. This is good article to show that skateboarding is a good sport and activity but you have to use your head and not get too reckless read it to find out more about the fines and the cities concerns.
